Hemendra is a Partner and Managing Director at Carbon Ops. He chairs the firm’s investment committee and manages the firm. He has overseen all phases of Carbon Ops’s development since its founding.

Hemendra has led an illustrious corporate and advisory career across Africa, the Middle East and India. As the CEO of Dangote Cement Tanzania, he turned the company’s $400M cement plant cashflow positive by building new customer base, optimizing plant operations, and sourcing alternative fuels to increase plant availability.

Prior to Dangote, Hemendra led the brownfield construction of a 2.5 million TPY cement unit at Kuwait Cement Company, making it one of the largest cement producers in the Middle East.

Hemendra started his career as a maintenance engineer at Ambuja Cement in India. He grew through the ranks to become Assistant Vice President in the company before moving abroad to pursue more higher-impact opportunities.

Hemendra received a Bachelors in Business Management from University of Mumbai, and a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from MS University, Baroda. When he is not transforming businesses, Hemendra serves the local community by leading holistic health, yoga, and meditation practices.
